The weather in Iceland is fickle. We can experience heavy rain, winds, snow, hail and sunshine all in an afternoon. It’s always easy to say dress accordingly but according to Icelandic weather that means always dress prepared for everything, especially when travelling the countryside. I am a summer child, my birthday is in late April and often coincides with the Icelandic holiday First day of Summer, as it does this year. My fondest birthday memory was having a birthday party with a snowball fight, on the First day of Summer. I think that says a lot about how the weather in Iceland can be treacherous or wonderous. Which ever you prefer.
