Hot soup and lamb wraps back at the jeep, then a short drive to Ljótipollur for the brick-red crater lake photo stop.
A final detour through the Hnausapollur crater and a panorama of Hekla volcano on the drive back to Reykjavík, arriving around 19:00.

This tour is suitable for most fitness levels:
Landmannalaugar is only accessible June through mid-September. Outside those months the F-roads and rivers are closed — we run the Katla Ice Cave tour instead. Inside that window, the weather can still flip fast: we carry extra layers onboard for anyone under-dressed. River crossings are weather-dependent; in rare flood years we may substitute a different highland route at the guide's discretion.
